“Losing weight makes you look good in clothes. Exercise makes you look good naked.” – Unknown
A special someone bought me some lingerie. It’s actually the first piece of lingerie that I haven’t picked out and purchased for myself. Actually, a guy hasn’t bought me any clothing as an adult. The last article of clothing I got from a guy was a hoodie from my cousin when I was like 13 years old. So I especially want to look good in the lingerie.
LOOK GOOD FOR YOU
Every time I started a fitness regimen, it was usually because I wanted to look good for someone or something. It became about impressing others and not so much about my own happiness.
I remember a time when I would workout three hours a day, in hopes that it would result in a body that would land me a hot boyfriend. And it did land me a boyfriend, but I wouldn’t exactly call him hot. This desperation to impress others drove me right into the arms of my abusive ex.
And now, it may not be the main reason, but one factor in why I’m itching to get into the gym again is explained in this song:
‘Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
Let me show you how proud I am to be yours
Leave this dress a mess on the floor
And still look good for you, good for you, uh-huh – Selena Gomez (Good For You)
I want him to find my body attractive and arousing especially when I’m naked or wearing something sexy.
LOOK GOOD FOR ME
But I’ve often found using others as motivation is short lived. I want to impress him so I workout to obtain that hot body, but what happens when we get comfortable with each other or things just fizzle out? The motivation dies down and so does the fitness regimen.
So I have to want to like what I see in the mirror. It becomes a motivation to wear that bikini or wear a certain dress and to look good while wearing it.
And sometimes, I say, “Damn, I look quite amazing in this little piece of lingerie.”
But what happens when the results seem to becoming ever so slowly? Oh hunny, this girl has gone through that so many times and it is so frustrating. You’re not seeing the progress on the scale and you still don’t like what you see. But how does working out make you feel? Maybe you say you feel tired and dead. However, it oftentimes raises confidence so you must feel even just a bit sexier.
My main motivation in working out is because I want to feel good. I want a healthy body that I can feel confident in. And when I do workout, it boosts my confidence. I feel sexier even if the scale doesn’t change so much.
I’m gonna put my body first
And love me so hard ’til it hurts
I know how to scream out the words
Scream the words
Gonna love myself, no, I don’t need anybody else – Hailee Steinfeld (Love Myself)
And yes, wearing naughty little things makes me feel sexy as well.
