To dine on my fine food and haddie
I just adore, his asking for more
But my heart belongs to Daddy

My Heart Belongs To Daddy – Marilyn Monroe

Music and fashion. Hmm this one is a bit hard for me. Fashion in terms of clothing was never a big thing for me. In fact, I wore men’s clothes for a while (sometimes, I still do) because they’re more comfortable. I wore hideous sweats and baggy shirts in high school because I didn’t want to change for PE. I’m all about comfort. I ditched high heels before I even hit 20 years old.

What I did buy into was more so hair and makeup. Especially makeup.

I’ve always loved Old Hollywood Glam. When I do my makeup, it is often with the goal to achieve this look. I draw a lot of inspiration from Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe is known for acting, but she was also a model and singer. She’s known as the “blonde bombshell.” Her most popular song is “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend.”

I absolutely love her glammed lips and I went for a similar look in the photos of my lips the other day. Eye makeup would be a tad different as I’d try to smoke it out a bit, not a whole lot. With a dramatic lip, I wouldn’t want to go too dramatic with the eyes. But adding grays and browns to the eye makeup along with a small cat eye, makes the whole look a bit more sultry and seductive. And you know I’m all about seducing Sir. It’s also similar to a look that I did on my first date with lover.

To achieve the Old Hollywood Glam lips, you could do something like this…

  1. Prime your lips first. I like to use MAC’s Prep + Prime, but there are many other options on Elle. I like to let it set for a bit so I’ll do the rest of my makeup in the interim.
  2. Line your lips. If you lips are on the smaller side, it’s totally okay to draw outside the lines to give your lips a fuller look. I tend to use Nightmoth, Vino, or Currant by MAC. You can check out the dupes for Nightmoth, Vino, and Currant.
  3. Fill in the inner corners of your lips on both the top and bottom. You all fill in most of the center of you lip. Here’s a very wonky markup of how it should be lined and filled.
I took a screen shot of someone’s lips and used an app to draw the dark coloring to indicate the lip liner.
  1. Smack your lips together so the lip liner won’t look so harsh.
  2. Fill your whole lip with a matte red lipstick. My favorite is MAC Viva Glam 1, here are some dupes.
  3. Gloss the center of your lips with a blue-red gloss. I use MAC Viva Glam Rihanna (not the second one, but the first edition). I believe it’s discontinued so you can use one of these dupes. Here is an example of the part of your lips to gloss.
It’ll look better than this haha. This is just my fat fingers not being able to do a precise job of coloring on my phone.
  1. Now your lips are complete! Here is an example of what it could look like.
Now these are my actual lips haha.

Um Sir said that if he saw me walking down the street without having known anything about me, he would’ve assumed I was a church girl. That should tell you a bit about my fashion sense. I dress conservatively…but Sir mostly sees me naked.

One day, I sent him a picture of me wearing a dress. Sir thought I was going out. I had told him that I had worn the dress during the day. He wasn’t used to seeing me in clothes haha.

  1. I get why make-up is needed sometimes. I prefer no make up for like 85% of the time, it doesn’t really do it for me all the time. I have been around women who lays it on thick and caked up.

The there are those times when you when I find myself looking deeper in the Japanese culture into the geisha history and the art of it. Wonderful that is makeup I can accept, I fully understand that is sounds like I am just stating the fact that most people think they are prostitutes and that is not the case. I am enjoy the art of it and the make-up is amazing.

Lips are for kissing, sucking, and fucking. Lipstick is just a outline for target practice.

    1. I’m too lazy to do makeup 99% of the time. I’d rather have that time for an extra hour of sleep before going to work haha. It’s something I do for special occasions like first dates, parties, weddings. Or if I’m really bored, I’ll start experimenting with different looks.

Now, when I see my lover, we can’t go out on fancy dates so there’s no point in wearing makeup if we just stay in. He doesn’t seem to mind.

      1. That is really cool and yes make-up does wonderful things I just know people put it on to cover up their flaws which shouldn’t be the case.

I really like messing up women make up and snap a photo of them and show and compare them with out make up. It builds up their self-esteem helping them to realize that they don’t need make up. But in public i get it everyone is the judge and jury, with that being said very little make up to make you feel there self worth because I can’t control what they see but I make sure you feel great about yourself. You DOM seems to be very smart as well.

  2. I like that lippy tutorial. I don’t wear make-up because my eyes can’t handle it anymore but I might have to start to wear some lipstick for a bit of color in my face 😉

    1. Thank you. I don’t wear makeup often because it takes too much time and I’d rather not clog my pores, but I have a big drawer full of lipstick, lip gloss, lip liners, etc haha.

  3. Great post – am a Marilyn fan and love your tutorial or glam lips – such fun!
